Hi, we're José (47 years old) and Mamen (46) —in 2025— and, like many of you, we're passionate about travel. For years we've thought about creating a blog to share our guides and experiences, just as other travelers have helped us with theirs. Although we were hesitant to start at first… we've finally taken the plunge! Why "Envidia de la Mala" (Bad Envy)? Because we don't believe in healthy envy when it comes to travel 😄. We all want vacations, getaways, adventures… and yes, we're very envious of how much other people travel. So we decided to share our trips too. 🌍 What will you find here?: This site is dedicated exclusively to our own experiences: Accommodations where we've stayed Areas we've explored Restaurants and places we've visited We don't talk about other people's recommendations or places we don't know. They might not always be the best, but they're real and based on our own experiences. 📄 Practical and downloadable guides: Before each trip, we prepare our routes by searching dozens of sources. That's why our guides are so comprehensive, and once the trip is over, we refine them to add information or correct any inaccuracies. We publish them in Word format so you can download, edit, and adapt them to your liking. They include interactive links, such as maps that open directly on your phone with the complete route. The routes start and end at our accommodation, but you can easily change it to your own. 🏛️ Churches yes, museums no? You'll see many churches on our routes, not for religious reasons, but because we love their architecture. On the other hand, museums don't usually appear... they bore us! Unless they have buttons to click and are free 😂. 💑 Couple's Trips (without children): Most of our getaways are weekend trips or include an extra day, and we take them as a couple (without the teenagers). We do take trips with them too, though, because we usually go away for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and during the summer, but these trips tend to be all-inclusive. We love to walk a lot and make the most of our time, so we always look for budget-friendly options. We include prices and dates for reference, although some time may have passed since the trip. All trips depart from and return to Madrid, where we live. 🤝 Help us improve: We hope our experiences are helpful.
